This unique true story begins with my first encounter with the police when I was five years old and involves an escaped convict hiding in my bedroom closet.The story continues with describing what it was really like to be a cop. This includes what it was like to kill a suspect in the line of duty, and how the publicity that followed brought a cop killer, who had been in hiding for more than a year with no leads, back out in public in an attempt to challenge me.
I also describe what an undercover cop faces everyday while working in a Vice and Narcotics unit, including buying twenty-one pounds of Marijuana with 357 magnum pistol being held less than three-feet from my head. The story also describes how relationships are affected from being a cop, including what it feels like to learn that I let a serial killer go during a domestic complaint because he wasn't developed as a suspect until several months and additional murders had passed.
I also revisit the many supernatural events I witnessed after the death of several family members, and how these events changed my thinking about "the other side" and my Native American roots. They might make you want to sleep with the light on. The story also describes many humorous events including learning to live in the south and working as a bouncer in a southern nightclub.
The story ends with describing the struggle that so many Americans go through in trying to get approved for our disability benefits. So if you are a lover of action, drama, humor, the supernatural, and the triumph over life's circumstances, you will enjoy Ex-Cop An American story

Ex-Cop An American story
I know Louis Smith. It was too full of bad language and explicit sex and after halfway through the book, I quit reading and I erased it from my library of books.
This book has it all! It's funny, dramatic, and captivating! A must read for anyone who wants to know what's it's like in the life of a police officer.
